Based on historical context, to provide advice to the Army on an ongoing basis, on matters pertaining to customs of the service, regimental lineages, dress and accoutrements, insignia, heraldry, vexillology, military music and military art.

To help nurture existing historic affiliations between Pakistan Army regiments and overseas ones, and provide input on fresh proposals for affiliations, as and when solicited.
